Catalina Island’s main town of Avalon features a hill with a big white house on top. It’s quite noticeable and people generally notice it. But what you might not know at first glance is that you can visit this spot – and it features some of the best views of Avalon.

The home is the former house of William A. Wrigley, who is known for the chewing gum fame. The home is now a bed and breakfast. It’s called the Inn at Mt. Ada, which takes its name from Wrigley’s wife.

The Inn on Mt. Ada is locally noted for its stunning and breathtaking views. Locals also note that the inn is home to extremely attentive staff. Guests often note the pampering they receive here.

Many enjoy visiting the Inn at Mt. Ada for a night, weekend or more of romance. The inn is noted as being highly romantic and is the sight of many proposals.

Additionally, it’s a popular spot for anniversaries, weddings and other special occasions.

The inn also has many porches and areas to sit and enjoy the view. Guests also get to use their own golf cart. Daily rates include two meals – breakfast and lunch along with use of the golf carts. You can also rent a golf cart in the town of Avalon, but those rates range about $30 per hour.

The inn features six rooms – making for a cozy stay. It has a grand suite with private balcony. Some other rooms also feature balconies.
