Every January, Catalina is home to the Avalon Benefit 50-Mile Run. It goes from Avalon to Two Harbors, and then makes the return trip. 2011 will mark the 29th annual run here. Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup

Do you want to do something to benefit the environment and help keep Santa Catalina beautiful? If so, then the annual Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup is right up your alley. This marks the only time that you can actually scuba dive in Avalon Harbor and you will find more than 500 volunteers in the water every year, helping to keep things pristine and clean up the damage caused by litter. Proceeds from the cleanup benefit the island conservancy and dive center.

Catalina Spring Art Festival

If you want to get out and about while enjoying the best art the island has to offer, then the Spring Art Festival is a great place to do just that. You will find all manner of art here, from simple pencil and ink works to photography and everything in between.

The Santa Catalina Grand Prix

The Catalina Grand Prix returned to the island in 2010, and gives you a great experience. The 100 mile Pro Race is the most popular event, though there is racing throughout the entire weekend.
