Jeffrey W. Stickler has big ideas to increase tourism in Avalon. As President – CEO to Island Enterprises, Mr. Stickler has over 36 years of experience operating tour and transportation companies. This is good news for the city of Avalon and will benefit the area in the form of short-term and long-term jobs both in construction and in the travel and tourism industry.

Mr. Stickler proposes new docks for passenger Cruise Ships, a small marina and a landing strip for commercial airlines. This project includes utilizing rock from the local quarry and fill dirt from the hillside next to Pebbly Beach Road versus hauling in rock and gravel.

Terracing the hillside will reduce the issue of landslides and also provide space to dock two or more cruise ships. Stickler also proposes filling the shallow water that borders Pebbly Beach Road to gain more usable land area.

A commercial runway spanning 4,500 feet will allow more tourists to visit and will be conveniently located near the new docks, visitor center and new marina.
