Ghost Tours Just in Time for Halloween

Catalina Island is a popular location for its ecology, water sports and comfortable living. However, it is a location just as fun as it is educational. One of the most entertaining tours you can take in Catalina is a haunted Catalina ghost tour.

What can you expect from a ghost tour? A ghost tour is a walking tour that involves telling stories, sharing experiences and sometimes playing with “ghost tracking” equipment. It is mainly for entertainment, of course. However, a place like Santa Catalina surely has good potential for a scare. After all, many of the houses in Avalon and Two Harbors are from the Victorian era. The active Crescent Street is frequently mentioned among ghost-hunting groups. It turns out the Avalon port is a portal not just to the island but also to other dimensions!

Other experiences have been shared at such locations as the Catalina Country Club and the Harbor Reef Restaurant.  Some people have claimed to see the late actress Natalie Wood near the Harbor Reef Restaurant where she ate her last meal before her mysterious death.  This too is not surprising, considering that Catalina Island was closely associated with early Hollywood.
The Banning House Lodge, which is found on the Isthmus of Catalina Island in Two Harbors, is also said to host some celestial sightings.  This house, which dates back to 1910, was once a summer home for the Banning Brothers. Since then, it has been renovated into a lodge. However, some guests report seeing a “white lady” moving about the house, while others claims to smell ethereal odors of tobacco coming from the soul of an old fisherman.

Whether these stories are true or not is beside the point. Ghost hunting makes for a fun pastime and touring these old locations in Avalon and Two Harbors will be a thrill for the whole family.  Check out a ghost tour in October!
