Let’s start by discussing some of the stores in Avalon, the main city that makes up the island.

There are plenty of local artists you can support in Avalon. Upton’s House of Wood is a unique creation imagined by Bud Upton and his son Roger. Here you can find original paintings, carvings and knickknacks. This house is opened in the summer. Off White Gallery is another option, and this showcases works by some local artists, including watercolor works and bronze sculpture.

Glitter shops like the Catalina Gold Company sell many chains and smaller pieces. There are also pearls, diamonds and gold collectables. Patricia’s is another gallery to look into, and this one features hand crafted gold and silver creations. If you want something less local and more “upscale” then visit CC Gallaghers. This shop sells everything from wine to gourmet foods to toys and flowers. There is even an espresso bar in the corner.

Other gift shops include the eco-friendly Catalina Nature Company, the quaint Hen House Gifts and the Le Bouquet de Catalin. On Crescent Avenue you can find some clothing stores as well as other souvenir shops. There are three stores for children; the Toy Attic on Claressa, Melody’s on Sumner Avenue, and the Sand Box Children’s Boutique on Crescent Avenue.
