Santa Catalina is the type of island destination that you want to just sleep out on the grass! Fun as that may be, you do not want any amphibians or insects camping out on your face! Not to worry, there are plenty of quality accommodations in Santa Catalina. The easiest way to review these hotels and motels is to divide the island into two parts: Avalon and Two Harbors, both of which are considered independent towns within this 22-mile island.
Avalon is where most hotels in Santa Catalina are stationed. The Banning House Lodge Bed and Breakfast Inn, as well as the winter camping cabins in Two Harbors are the only notable exceptions. Most of the hotels will offer a package deal; for example, a two-day weekend with food and entertainment provided. Most of the hotels provide at least a free breakfast and a method of transport from the mole or heliport. In addition, some hotels offer Jacuzzis, pools and BBQ facilities.
Some of the most beautiful hotels include El Terado Terrace, which comes with a kitchen and a lovely canyon view, and the Glenmore Plaza Hotel, which was originally built in 1887. Modern hotels include the Hotel Villa Portofino, with its beachside location, and Hotel Vincente’s modern convenience. When it comes to luxury, Avalon hotels provide some of the most generous accommodations with the most splendid views of Avalon Bay. The Hotel Vista Del Mar and the Hotel St. Lauren are among the most popular selection. The Hotel Metropole provides Jacuzzis, balconies, fireplaces and elevators.
Budget hotels include the Casa Mariquita, the Pavilion Lodge and the Bayview Hotel. In Two Harbors, you can find the Banning House Lodge, a historical house from 1910, as well as a Catalina Elder Hostel program, which lets retirees stay in hostels while learning a new subject.
There is plenty of accommodation in Santa Catalina! Come for the rugged adventure and then enjoy the pampering!
